Dean, I too have thought of getting a crewman into the UK. As far as I can see there are 2 big hitches. 1. You will not be able to reclaim the VAT as it will not carry over 1 tonne in the bed (and there is no way of uprating the suspension at present). 2. The slight 'swerve' to get the normal ute thru the SVA will not work as the bed is to short. This means at present we cannot find a way to get one thru. (and I think we have been down every route!)

Register it in Andorra with Tourist plates, no residency required, you will only pay 2% VAT/GST but will have great trouble selling it when you have finished.

Hi Guys,

I don't know whether it will help with your road rules over there but the Crewman now comes with the option of deleting the tub. By doing that you can fit an ally or steel(maybe?) tray and it should carry 1 tonne?

Hello Dean

In principle you're out of luck, as you won't get it through an SVA. However, as Linden Special Vehicles was importing highly modified Holdens (as LSVs) before the rules changed, they can import the vehicle as an LSV rather than a Holden. The problem is, it's not simply a re-badging exercise. A fair amount of work needs to be done on the vehicle in Australia, you almost certainly won't get back the GST, add to this import costs, duty and VAT, and SVA costs, and you can see where this is leading. Expensive.
