What is with all the PCP availability?

It used to be the case when you called up for finance options on an older model the response was: “We do not offer PCP on cars over 3 years old.”
I called up a main dealer last week on a 2014 plate and was pleasantly surprised by the 6.8 % offer. Not bad given it is over 3 years of age.
