My opinion is DaInese stuff has always felt much better made and of a higher quality.

I have alpinestars and they are good - but I think Dianese are better

What MrGmann said

I have a dainese 2pc for road and a star 1pc for track

100% dainese are the better built leathers. Just feels better leather, thicker, stronger

I was A-Stars for years, then got a deal on a 2 Piece Dainese Laguna suit and its been like night and day, now also have a Dainese 'Brand wker' Ducati 1 piece as well, doubt I'd go back to A-Stars leathers ...

On the other hand my A-Stars Goretex kit and SMX Boots have been awesome so this isn't an A-Stars bashing post...

I prefer Dainese as they actually do some without the branding on every panel ....I have a fairly plain black 2 piece bought 2nd hand about 7 years ago, crashed in once, no real damage, just use it for the odd track day.

I have a Dainese 2-piece which has been brilliant, got a 1-piece now for track.

Quality is first class and it’s still in excellent overall condition after 4-5 years.

Also for sale.

The Dainese suit is a higher spec suit. The alpinestars monster suits are just their cheapest suit with monster logos on usually sold at big discounts because no one really wants them.

I would actually prefer the Dianese to be plain black but a bit of red is never really an issue - its not like its draped all over it just a couple of flashes.

When i tried this specific Dianese on in the shop the cut felt really good and even though the leather is quality it felt like it was kind of thin not plasticky/rigid if that makes any sense?

I asked a friend who rides today and he told me dianese/alpinestars are both a bit stty and to look at RST/SPIDI/BKS but i tried on RST and i thought the stuff was garbage, the fit and cut was terrible - tried a BKS suit on and that did feel alright to be fair.. but dianese/alpinestars both felt quality

Your mate hasn’t got a clue if he’s saying RST and BKS are better than alpinestars and Dainese.

Vote here for Alpinestars... great quality and definitely a more generous cut if you’re a stocky build.

In fairness to your mate, that may be his experience but isn't a statement that you can make with a broad brush, my views are:

Top of the tree:

Bespoke, be it Dainese, MW, BKS but the full made to measure stuff.

Next:

Dainese and top of the range AStars, possibly put Furygan in here and top of the range BKS.

Next:

Spidi / Berik / mid range AStars / BKS and the usual suspects.

Next:

RST / IXS / Generic ste
