Is it really that bad out there or has WBAC’s pricing algorithm made a mess of things and somebody took the cash and run?

Tomorrow BCA will be selling a Grade 1 2016 3k miles 991.1 GT3RS. Glass says £153k, but I have severe doubts the car would see a bid anywhere near...

Supercar Nigel selling his £145k with PCCB and nice spec.

Trade bids just shy of that. £142k ish

If your a big dealer group, Sytner , Jardine etc why not sell via BCA and get close to retail money.

Mega business model at BCA since the float

They lend money to dealers at approx 12% PA to buy cars that go through their auctions.

Some (not all) dealers have to use stocking finance like this to buy stock so bid against each other. They own the car in the hope of getting money back on the car but selling on finance and hopefully a nice part exchange

  • * ie some dealers CANT afford to buy a car at £145k for cash so have to pay £150k plus because it’s financed by BCA

All the above make sense, but this ain’t coming from a franchise dealer. It’s coming from WBAC... And no, it won’t make £150k - I guarantee you that... Just like the 996 GT2 which is the ex-OPC Portsmouth car that was for £145k with OPC and now is for sale for the umpteenth time, having barely made £83k last time...

BCA owns WBAC don't forget so this is the natural route for them to sell their purchases through.

The fact it ended up with WBAC in the first place is the eye opener. Owner fallen on hard times or a dealer that couldn't afford to keep it up for sale any longer or ??

Lots of guff being spouted by armchair experts lol.

So just because someone wants to change their car and sell to WBAC they are bankrupt.

Right.

It’s a great business model.

WBAC buys the car
BCA lends the money to dealer
Dealer buys the car from BCA

BCA earns 2 x commissions and funding

No wonder they are buying their own shares back. Not happy about that one !!
