o.k its hard for me where to go here. I'm nearly 40 man and have had it for nearly 24 years. I’m not skinny and you imagine ive paid the price with my teeth. Yet feels normal to me it is how i cope yet i just don't know where to go.

I have other issues, but it would be one to try and sort as its not really a good thing. I have raised with my gp, my family know , mum brother, not really got anywhere, but i'm embarrassed really, i know there could be people to help, but i’m not the most confident, lack self-esteem and live a very isolated life.

Hello,

It's tough to admit there's something wrong and you're not OK - but you've said you've done that already by discussing it with your GP, family etc. Give yourself some credit for that first!

Eating disorders are an illness, and you do need help. Try and get another appointment with your GP in the first instance.

If you're not comfortable/confident doing that - check out https://helpfinder.beateatingdisorders.org.uk/ - not sure where you're based but it will find NHS centres/support groups etc. nearby, also there's a helpline number at the top of the page where you can get guidance from people who support & treat people in the same situation all the time.

It might be worth you asking a family member or friend to make the call for you and get the first appointment or consultation arranged, then it's one less thing for you to worry about, and then you know it's done and you can start looking forwards and hopefully help.

I think you need to seek help from a therapist or counsellor. The other issues mentioned and unmentioned are probably all linked.

GPs are great at physical issues but not so much mental health issues.
