its a one person, very rich owner, mot's check out. just they didn't really worry about keeping the servicing schedule recorded or getting the stamps done..they have the paperwork somewhere in one of their penthouses...

he who dares???? or walk away!!

We're the services performed by the main dealer ? If so then they will have everything on their system so the owner can call and get it confirmed.

I've bought cars with missing history before, but I'd always want to pay less than a car with history and I'd do my check to reassure myself on condition.

At the back of my mind I'd wonder if he was so rich he didn't care, didn't know enough about cars to care, or didn't get it serviced cos he didn't realize he needed to.

Price it on the latter, put your big boy pants on and throw your cash on the table like a drunk millionaire at a casino !

Could get a professional inspection done (esp for rust) and a compression check?

And take a long term view of ownership?

It’s a classic car: buy the car in front of you (or not).

Service history is a bonus!

Can you support the mileage pre 2006 / online with MOT certificates?

Could always get it inspected - would show fairly quickly if the story stacks up.
