Shop bought chicken breast - tough all of a sudden?

I've always purchased my chicken breasts from M&S, and have eaten between 1 and 2 breasts a day for as long as I can remember. Last week I had piece which had a revolting texture, after googling it appears this was a 'woody' bit of chicken. Since then I have bought chicken from Sainsburys and Waitrose and both times each packet contained a nasty tough piece. What's the deal? Has anyone else experienced this?

Been a problem for years. A consequence of breeding chickens with more and more breast meat - I actually don't think going to a butcher or what ever is much of a solution. Probably better off looking for smaller breasts.
