Investment Banking - the bottoms quartile probably earn more than good sales people in most other industries. The very good ones can earn an awful lot.

For now, maybe, but it's a market that's grinding to a halt.

I heard a story of a dude earning 110k selling beds at bensons for beds. Dude then showed bank statements verifying this

It's a small basic with the rest in commission. You work every weekend with two other days of during the week.

Wow that would be amazing how did they get into these roles and what sort of previous experience did they have?

I believe this. Although there’s no hiding place in the IT industry.

Start with a smaller /local IT co, reseller, progress up from there. Find out what’s hot and try and get a gig selling that (avoid hardware).

In the past few years, I would say, cloud services, salesforce, workday and service now.
Near 20 years ago our oracle account director let slip he made over £500k a year, we spent £2m a year on their software (we were one of 10 accounts he had), the margin was 99%, so I could well believe it.

As said above, IT sales is not a blaggers world, selling into IT/ finance/ marketing directors, long burn - often 6 months plus.

I don't work in sales, its a skill I've come to respect more and more.

The other area is recruitment, its 99% about sales (not finding candidates), top earners once again well into 6 figures, but a real tough gig.
