Brake upgrade Mk7 Golf GTi CS
Discussion
Evening all
I’ve recently bought a Golf CS ED40 primarily to learn track craft.
I’ve booked Thruxton and Spa so far this year but before I go I want to make sure the brakes are up for the job.
Previously, I’ve upgraded my F80 M3 with RS29 pads, Hel lines and racing fluid for a trip to the ‘ring and they were excellent.
So my question is, what’s the best set up for the Golf?
I’m happy to replace the discs/pads/lines/fluid but want to keep the calipers if possible (pp).
I’m not sure if the TCR discs are best or even if they’ll fit?
Any recommendations from the PH collective would be much appreciated, cheers.

Thanks both for your replies.
I did use Mike at Vagbremtechnic who certainly knows his stuff. I'd happily recommend him to others.
The only issue now is the dreaded front pad rattle in the caliper with the RSL29s. I really don't like it, they rattle on anything other perfectly flat tarmac.
I'd be really grateful of any pointers of how to rectify. If I can't fix, I'll put OEM pads back in and see how they last at Thruxston next week......
thanks in advance.

Didn’t know that, thanks.
I’ve put oem in for now and they’re bedding in nicely. Not too sure how they’ll cope on Monday at Thruxton but the weather forecast is pants so should I be ok.
I’ve found a very good parts guy at my local VW dealer and we checked TCR pads (but they are the same part number - despite some mags saying they’re upgraded) but I didn’t think to check CCS pads.
I’ll look into it, thanks.

Haven't used them personally (got OEM on mine, which I find more than adequate for road driving), but know they did a different compound for the Clubsport S.
CS front pads are 8V0698151C or 5Q0698151K - c.£120
CSS ones are 5Q0698151G - c.£160
Might be worth getting more cooling - this is an near-OEM and cheap solution using RS3 cooling air deflectors: https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41...
From the VW press release: "To further improve the hot braking performance, the Golf GTI Clubsport S also leaves the factory with special brake pads on the front and rear axles."
From Evo: "the brakes get specific pads and aluminium bowls that enable the discs to expand under sustained track work without warping."
