I’m currently in the process of buying a 360. My colour preferences are in order:

Black
Blue
Red

It seems that Black 360’s for the spec and budget I’m looking at are as rare as rocking horse doo dah. Which is a shame because I happen to think they look the absolute dogs danglies in black:

So I’m seriously having to think about choosing between blue and red. Blue was my second choice but now I’m not so sure. The blue can look nice but I’m worried that it’s a bit plain:

The red I’m in two minds about. I don’t know whether it’s the condition of the car, the sunlight, or the photography but sometimes it can look like a rather flat pinkish red which makes the car look plasticy and is generally crap:

And other times it can look like a deep lush blood red which is very nice indeed:

Is it just me or is Rosso Corse not always the same thing?

I'm pretty sure thats a TdF blue car, not black (nero).

I'm a big fan of 360s in Nero and Tdf. They look stunning. Add crema interior to either car and its droolworthy and very classy.

Also, there's no such thing as 'red' or 'blue' with Ferrari as they do so many shades of colours.

For red, you might like Rosso Barchetta, which is like a dark red/burgandy.

For blue, as I stated previously, I think TdF (Tour de France) looks awesome, but then grigio alloy (i think) is like a silvery blue and looks equally stunning.

The lighting and camera (flash or not etc) can make cars look very different colours, even more so if they've just been waxed.

Don't base your final decision on pics, get yourself along to a decent Ferrari showroom and check out some cars in the metal.

Enjoy

I should clarify I was talking about

Nero
Tour de France Blu
Rosso Corse

I know they do different reds but Rosso Corse should be the same normally. Unfortunately I'm having to buy the car on spec so will probably have to decide the colour based on photos prior to a final test drive and purchase.

Rosso Corsa is Rosso Corsa. But it can be tough to photograph, especially with digital cameras.

I think Rosso 360s look better with Challenge grilles (front and back).

But I think I'd probably go for TdF (metallic, if there's a choice). I'd then be inclined to find one with proper shields, red calipers and crema interior, maybe with Daytona seats/blue piping and blue carpets.

T1...congrats on the 360 anyway! ) Please take the time to share your experiences when you get her.

If an Oracle hack can get one, then I'm still in with a fighting change ;o)

BTW Rosso Corsa always looks orange in pictures, but it's really quite nice in the flesh and very Ferrari.

Best of luck, I certainly wish I was down to the "choose a colour" hurdle!

1.TDF /Tan
2.Met blk/Tan
3.Rosso Corsa/Crema

Be aware that "Resale Red" is by far and away the easiest car to sell on and generally these cars command a "colour" premium over non red cars. Having said that, i personally think the 360 looks best in dark metallic non red !
Good luck.

TDF with dark tan leather every day...

if you are going for red try and get one with the challenge grill on the back as it breaks up rump and makes it look sleaker... also the little yellow rari badges on the flanks look good on darker colours.

black is stunning but will show up every bit of dust or dirt.

ideal spec for me would be (if it was going to be a 360 that is..)...

TDF blue
dark tan leather with dark blue carpets
manual gearbox
split-rim rari alloys (or perhaps the stradale BBS items)
challenge grills
side-logo thingies
and of course a tubi-style zorst.

i would be quite chuffed with that!

I love Ferrari's, so at the end of the day it would still look the business in tartan to me!

360's do look superb in black, but the only colour to dress a Ferrari in is rosso corsa. It can look inconsistent on photos, so just ignore the differences, but in the flesh I've never seen a Ferrari who's lines are not improved in red.

If you do get a 360 in rosso corsa get the body polished using Zymol Ital. It's designed for Italian paints and reassuringly carries a wee prancing horse logo on the side of the tin. It takes a couple of blokes a day to give it the full treatment (cleaning, deoxidising and polishing) for about 250 quid (a load less if you take your wedding ring off and do it yourself). It transformed my car, definitely bringing out the RED in the colour which I think sometimes has an orangey tinge to it.

My 360 is of course in rosso corsa and the 430 i've got on order will be the same. After all the colour red and Ferrari do have something of an historic connection don't they!

The only downside to red is that you will stick out like a sore thumb to plod in his T5 who does like to pull over red Ferrari's when he's playing snooker (twice for me in as many weeks) but it is worth it.

Anyway, good luck with your purchase whatever the colour and make sure you get a Ferrari bomb proof warranty if the factory warranty has expired as 40K for an engine job must hurt a lot.

Do you know anyone who's had to pay that?

I'd be thinking more in the 10s (still wince inducing, but not quite as bad!).

FWIW, wanted crema interior on my 360, but the aluminium bits clashed. I wanted nero, which was v rare and specifically I wanted the flat black (just nero not nero daytona or nuevo nero daytona): even rarer. I didn't like the metallic black as sometimes it looks grey, it has these little specs of grey in the paint.

Anyway, dealer found me a <3 month old car with <900 miles on it, but interior was black with black leather and black carpets. Oh bollox I thought perfect car but booorrrring interior. I really wanted it to have bordeaux interior, but I didn't want to lose the car so took it. In the end it worked well enough, but it was a bit boring compared to the crass cream with red carpets of the 355 (lol I love crass).

Get the colour you like most, but with these cars its really difficult coz if they are not all together in one place, any colour will do! They look pretty good in all to be fair. BUT I think 360 NEEDS scuderia shields, red calipers finish the look.

A few pics for you:

looks like a coffin, but it smells nice

My advice: Get the one on the right
