Alternator Belt problem
Discussion
Ok, i've not been on PH for ages but i've run into a problem i hope someone may have come across before...
I've got a 4.3 pre-cat Griff, it's been laid up for best part of a year (long story, don't ask!) but i got her back on the road recently - trouble is after the first few "proper" throttle applications it threw the alternator belt - i put this down to the belt going off/perishing after so long parked up but it did the same thing last week with a new belt - I'm guessing misaligned pulleys or similar - am i right in thinking the crank pulley has been known to move out of alignment? Everything seemed ok before the car got laid up last year.
anyone had the same problem?
Thanks in advance
Dave
