I try to drive my Jago every weekend but a week is just long enough for the fuel to drain back into the tank and for the contents of the float chamber to evaporate. This results in having to crank the engine for about 20 seconds whereupon it starts a treat.
Discussing this with Dave at Stoneleigh he said "electric fuel pump". So what I've done is buy a Hardi (like an SU) pump on eBay, plumb it in between mechanical pump and carb with an upstream inline filter and wire it from an ignition-on terminal via a dashboard switch.
It works a treat- primes the carb in seconds and the engine starts first pull. Also, the engine seems to run fine with the electric pump switched off so no extra danger of flooding the carb...
Cheers Dave.
