Gearbox breather

Can anybody tell if there's actually gearbox oil going through their gearbox breather? I have a G50 and installed a plastic breather hose going from the top of the gearbox into the breather "tank", so I can see if there's any oil in the hose. But so far (3.0000 km) there's no sign that any oil actually left the gearbox. Oil level`s ok.
Maybe I`ll have to rev it a bit higher....
