Monte Carlo Rally Historique 2020 - Glasgow or Reims start?

I've been invited by a friend to join him for the 2020 Rally in his Daimler Conquest, there will be three people in the car.
We cannot decide whether to start from Glasgow or Reims.
One wants Glasgow, one wants Reims, so it's up to me to make the decision.
Glasgow is the emotional place to start as one crew member's dad started from Glasgow in 1955. But Reims would be easier and more cost effective.
Can anybody offer advice?

Don't know if it makes any difference to you or not but they don't actually start from Glasgow, the last 2 or 3 years it's either been Paisley Abbey or Clyebank College. They started from Bytheswood square as per the original monte in 2011 but Glasgow Council found it too busy to continue so that was a one off.

Haven’t had the chance to do the Monte, but from those that have, the usual recommendation is to start from Reims. The long run down is in effect non competitive anyway and it’s better to trailer the car to Reims and take it more seriously from there.
The vast majority seem to choose that option afaik.
Make sure you are prepared for the somewhat underhand methods of some of continental crews, who seem to know where all the so-called secret timing points are!.
