5711 £62,750 (RRP £23,440). 5726 £87,500 (RRP £33,860). Makes a £20K-plus Daytona seem like a real bargain. Mind you, what selling price WF get may be another matter.

Watchfinder.

So take about 20% off those prices I'd say.

WF's mark-up over list on a Nautilus used to be 10 to 15K. Not WF but WTF! biggrin

Imagine my delight at collecting my 5711 last week.

Slightly miffed at the price increases since I joined the waitlist (when it was circa 17k). But the grey market was approx 5k over list when I joined. Now it’s like 40k over list.

Crazy, and I can’t see it continuing.

I'm on a list for one. I'm hoping it arrives during my lifetime. wink As long as they're in short supply they'll always be at a premium on the used market. But is anyone willing to pay 50K over list for one? That would be mental IMO.

To be fair, they haven't been at a 40k premium to list for the last couple of years? About 3 years ago a local grey had a brand new double sealed one for 23k. If I knew then what I know now, I would have just bought that at the time and not bothered waiting.

I think they can probably sustain a few grand over premium, but going for more than double retail is not sustainable. I do think Patek will weather any drop in grey market prices better than Rolex.

All of the above said, I popped into Watch Club a few weeks back and they were knocking them out at 65k, so someone's paying it I guess!

I'm sure it will, I've had a couple of Nautilus in the last year (not both 5711). Waited much longer than I did for any Rolex, but was well worth it on both occasions.

With Patek I find there are less AD games and just really slow supply. The 5711 was originally supposed to arrive in 2017...

I got plenty of swag with both purchases so that made it even better smile

Watchfinder's prices are crazy and what's worse is their prices directly reflect the secondary market!

Unless Non UK nationals are coming and buying at VAT free prices i can't fathom who'd pay their ludicrous prices, on the flip side they pay the highest trade price when selling watches!

99.9% of stuff WF sell is not eligible for VAT to be reclaimed on exiting the UK as they're selling preowned pieces on the margin scheme.

What's more, if you look at other greys up north and elsewhere in the UK, they're charging similar (or even higher) prices.

Crazy all round smile

So how easy/hard is it to order a new Nautilus?
I have an S/S Daytona which I think has reached silly money now, would be happy to sell it, and wait for a PP to arrive.

Unless you are a long time customer of the PP agent and have bought a lot more than just the odd Rolex you’re looking at least 6yrs, thats even if they’ll put your name on the list.

It’s all changed in rather a short space of time, I put my name down with a Scottish agent 4 years ago, got it 12 months later without ever visiting the store and they posted it to me!!

What’s driving the current prices beyond a lack of supply? IMO they’re not a particularly good looking watch as the 70’s design hasn’t aged well, especially the gold colored ones. Fat fingered, clumsy looking things.
