In case anyone's looking right now, as at now the bid on this 2008 31k miles car is 27k and is "close to reserve" so could be a good deal from the details.
I'm looking for a manual and probably roadster, otherwise may have been tempted...

What are the additional payments required at an auction? 10% buyers fee, plus 20% VAT?

This looks like a decent car and a fastidious previous owner smile

There are no buyer's premiums with The Market. They only have seller's premiums and an entry fee, so the price you bid is the price you pay.

Always a risk if you can't actually go and look at it first, but does seem like the guy is just making space for it, so probably would rather sell quick and lose a little than wait months to sell privately (and can probably afford to!)

From the advert "the owner’s advice on closing the boot; it has, you see, a lovely leather strap that dangles down enticingly, luring novices into pulling on it to close the lid. The trouble is that it is attached to that fragile aluminium boot lid, and pulling on it can leave two dimples in the metal. Closing it by hand avoids that".

Is that right? Never heard that before. I thought the strap bolted to the inner frame of the boot, not the outer boot skin.

Car does look nice, though it's well over a year since it was serviced and looks like it also missed 2017 annual service, so any buyer would need to factor a service in.

I was under the impression that the bootlid on this model vantage was manufactured from a composite material - not aluminium?

Maybe as you get older you have to pull on things a bit harder but that is never going to damage the boot lid rolleyes

Sold for shy of £30k ... Not bad at all if you can put an AM warranty on it.
