Anyone owned this Wedge before?

Making my first foray into Wedge ownership! I've put a down payment on a 280i auto DHC here - https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1040024
It's had a fair few owners so I wondered if it had passed through any of your hands before?

I know the car from years ago. A friend Karl who had lost an arm in a motorbike accident owned it. Needs a new hood, not refurbishable

Interesting! Shame about the roof - how severe we talking? Useable in current condition or do you think i'd have to have it replaced immediately.

I'd be grateful for anything else you remembered about it.

It was something like 15ish years ago. We went to Clacton to buy the car, and the roof had been boot polished to tart it up, and its the same hood still on the car. The hood was useable especially as it will always be down. We did a road trip to Germany but i cannot find the pictures

Ahh gotcha. Yea I can't imagine the roof condition has got much better since then. I'll see how it is and I can either patch it up myself or I found a few places that will make you a new roof for 400 or so quid.
Glad to hear it was mechanically sound enough for a trip through Europe though, that's the important thing. If you find pictures do share, but otherwise thanks very much for the help.
