Hi

I have just dropped my 2011 Gallardo LP550-2 in with Lamborghini Leicester.

Has anybody else had dealings with this dealer in regard to servicing?

My car was spot on nothing wrong with it just in for a routine annual service, the service was all done but when the technician took it out on a road test the EML come on Hmmmm.

This is my first Experience with Lamborghini but I know Porsche never road tested my 911 turbo after a service.

My Lambo dealer always does a road test.

As stated, the inspection report requires a road test.

Ok fare enough. Is it normal for a small service to take 3 days ? Just seems along time to me.

lamborghini's ecu warnings are famously sensitive, but has the dealer told you exactly why the light came on ?

Did you tell’em when you wanted it back?
These cars are rarely daily drivers, so time isn’t normally of the essence for customers.

Major service takes 4 days according to my local lambo dealer so 3 days for a minor is pretty much standard and yes it's normal for them to test drive it.

Did they carry out the recall work at the same time?

If so it may be that addition (FOC) work is/was needed as a result of the EML coming on.

Quick Update

Ok so I heard back from the dealer today as they have now had time to run checks on the management light.

It turns out the crank solenoid on bank two is at fault. They are going to replace it on Tuesday.

I Bought the car at the beginning of April I think the recall work was done prior to me collecting although I have nothing supporting this.
If hadn’t been done already I’m sure Lamborghini Leicester would of told me of the additional work needed under recall.

Is it normal practice to rack up 60miles while on test drives?

Not sure I will be using them again.

No! 5 miles maybe after a service. Possibly longer if they were trying to diagnose an issue, but 60 miles after a service is taking the p1ss (imo).

The issue of services taking days seems to be a common theme with Lambo dealers. A service usually only takes them a few hours but they always ask to keep it for days so that they can mange the flow of work through their workshop. Basically you take your car in and it sits around for a day or so in a queue of work until they get around to it.

This really annoys me for two reasons. It disrupts 2 of my days getting the car serviced (1 day leaving it and one picking it up) rather than just doing the whole thing in one day like mainstream cars. Secondly as parking is usually very limited at the Lambo service centres I have been to it means the likelihood of my car picking up parking damage is greatly increased when it sits around for days.

When I negotiate a price I usually manage to insist that they turn mine around in a day for routine servicing.

Mines at Leicester in 3 weeks for a minor and have been told it'll take 3 days but I've been given a courtesy car.

I believe I've got an Audi A6 booked for me, tried for a Urus but no joy ;-)
