What to do with rare Whiskey?
Discussion
Hi all.
Hopefully this is the right section to ask.
A family member has a few old bottles of single malt whiskey which we understand to be reasonably valuable. He no longer has any interest in them and is looking to sell them. Does anyone know of any specialist forums or the like where he could advertise them?
For reference the bottles are:
- 1980 Oban
- Glenmorangie "Traditional 100% Proof" - don't think there is a year on it but looks an old style bottle
- 1978 20 year old Port Ellen Limited Edition
Any info or pointers appreciated. I know nothing at all on the subject.
Cheers.

Add an E and it's Irish or Yank.

Port Ellen expressions can go for quite daft money...a savvy friend of mine has a couple which have gone for around £1800 a bottle when watching recent auctions...he paid around £100 each back in the late 1980's and is one of those people who sees things coming but always keeps it to himself...
Not sure about the Oban or Glenmorangie to be honest...checking here may help though: https://whisky.auction/
