Car washing gone wrong

Hand washing the car and ended up putting my hand through the back window. Major sense of humour failure but thankfully it didn't rain all weekend. I guess the stitchings day was numbered - any idea how much it is going to cost me to be repaired.....

Sorry to hear about your rear screen

I guess it's better that it goes now when we should be getting better weather.

If it's just the stitching that's gone, then people have in the past repaired it themselves, by running some new thread through the existing holes.

So, if you're any good with a needle and thread, or you're willing to give the Mrs some leave from the sink, you could save yourself a few pennies

You may be able to get it on your insurance, as it is a screen. Should only cost £50. A guy at work did the same thing on his MX-5.

Know how you feel I split the screen on my S, dropping the roof in the garage when the temp outside was 11-12dec but inside the garage was alot colder.
Cost me £240 to have new screen sewed in by an upholsterer, fantastic job though, but I learned a costly lesson that day as he told me that platsic screens like this should always be lowered when the temp is above 12 and also have some sort of towel/sheet kinda thing to keep the creases out whilst the rear section is down.

Not a lot of help in your case but hopefully a little bit for the future.
