Opinions on 2016 999cc VW Polo

Hi all,
would appreciate some opinions (hopefully from owners) on the 999cc engine in a 2016 polo?
Me and my sister had a bit of a falling out and didn't speak for a few weeks, and in that time she decided to go buy a used polo from the local VW dealership.
she would always come to me for car advice and because she's a nervous driver she'd never test drive a car in front of a salesman,
Net result, she's picking up a car in a few days that she's never driven and i'm worried its going to be naff
we've still got some of the cooling off period so she could cancel but am i worrying over nothing?
shes coming out of a 2001 1.8 focus so even though it was tired it had a little grunt, she does a fair bit of motorway miles but only for pleasure, no commute.
i didn't know they even made cars with just 60bhp.

My son has a 2009 Polo with 70bhp. I like it. Surprisingly comfortable, peppy little thing, and lots of fun to drive. Bit sluggish loaded with 4 people and going up a hill, but should be fine for one person, and for motorway runs. No idea if the 10bhp difference with yours makes much difference, or how it compares to a 2001 Fiesta though.
When my Mum wanted a Polo we didn't even bother test driving the 60bhp 1.0 3-cylinder, the reviews were enough to see to that. IMO an adult of 20+ years deserves more power than that and IMO that model only exists in the range to sell to the people who don't fit in that category.
Mum is now happily zipping up and down the A3 in the 95PS 1.0 TSI which feels like the correct engine for the car.

I've got a Citigo with the same 60hp 3 cylinder engine. It's perfectly adequate as a car for one or two people on local trips.
Surprisingly torquey for such a tiny engine - happy to potter along in 5th gear at 30mph. It's even OK at maintaining speed up hills, but needs dropping a gear or two and thrashing to actually accelerate if the hill is on the steep side.
Very easy to get (true brim to brim) 60mpg, and it doesn't feel too cramped inside.
The Polo is probably a bit heavier though.

It's a modern Polo so should be a lot safer than the Focus.

I think the model only exists so they can say "prices from" and quote it as the 'best' MPG figure for the range.and also to bring the fleet co2 average down
