Afternoon

I'm looking to order replacement pads and discs all round for our 2015 Passat estate which is the 2.0 SCR TDi 190.

VW are quoting over £300 for the economy parts alone, and won't provide me with the part numbers which would enable me to verify the fitment types on euro car parts/car parts for less.

In short, does anyone know how you can find out which are the correct fit when given different options on euro car parts etc?

I used to be able to do it quite easily with realoem.com for BMW, bit seemingly not so easy for VW.

Thanks

Alex

With a bit of patience you should be able to find the information on the following site.
http://www.oemepc.com/

VW tends to use standard disc sizes so if you can measure the diameter of the front and rear discs it will give you a head start.

If your local TPS sells tobthe public, its worth getting prices off them as often they have deals on OEM discs and pads.

Somewhere on your car, or in the manual, there will be a sticker with all the options on the car.

If you google them then you'll be able to see what brakes were fitted (I assume, like Audi, there are different sizes depending on sports pack or not etc).

You can then use that to select the right ones from ECP.

Or, talk to TPS, they should be able to use your registration to tell you what size of disks you need.

But really, decoding the options list and finding a parts diagram (they're usually online somewhere), is really helpful for buying parts.

Thanks guys - agree on the parts manual, have just struggled with VW compared to past experience with BMW.

To be fair, even knowing the information it can be quite an ordeal to identify the correct parts on the ECP website.
