Interesting scheme from Bristol.

“Young dealers caught selling drugs are being offered career opportunities, fitness sessions and driving lessons as part of a police scheme in Bristol.

Offenders are offered training instead of facing court but participants suspected of crimes while on the scheme would be charged, police said.”

Good idea. It is much more convenient to order drugs for delivery. Maybe someone could give them a coding course so that they can knock an app together.

The fitness sessions will be handy in outrunning the police as well.

Why not just leave them to it and encourage everyone else to get a job/ training before they get in to trouble, if that is the issue?

i suppose it's fairly dangerous walking the streets with large quantities of drugs and money about your person. far safer if they can travel by car.

Why bother, the punishment for driving while disqualified (which is going to happen pretty quickly if they have a licence) is much harsher than if they never bothered getting a licence in the first place.

Makes sense.

It's hard work catching drug dealers, but Bristol can fine motorists like the best of them.
