Headlights

Bit of help please!

My main beams seam to only work when they feel like it!
Side lights operate fine and the full beam is fine.

I've checked the fuse and thats ok, the problem first happened the other night I switched the lights on and only the side lights came on, after a slow drive home just as I was pulling into my drive they started to work??
Same hapened the next day I tried to switch them on and just got side lights, drove around for 20 mins or so and they started to work.
I'm thinking a loose connection somewhere, anyone got any ideas where I should start looking? It's both sides that are out too.

Mark,

Check the control boxes on the top of the fuel tank. These can often get bad connections due to over heating. If it is this it's an easy fix.

I'll have a look at that.
I was thinking something along those lines as I saw one advertised on ebay the other day, but wasn't sure where the control box was!
Must be either one of those connections or relay 11 I think.

Extra Driver, did you get the message I sent you about the de-cat pipes in the classifieds? or are they already sold?

If you canr see it...check down the back of the tank.

I will take a look when I get home, the powers that be do not allow Hotmail at work
