F30 330i 2017 v 2018
Discussion
Change of job means I'm only travelling low miles and looking for a F30 BMW 330i auto saloon.
I've noticed that the 2017 models are listed as 252 HP and 420Nm, but the 2018 models seem to be listed as 248 HP and 330 Nm.
I know the later ones are RDE compliant, but over 20% reduction in torque and both appear to have the same CO2 emissions?
Anybody have any knowledge of these.

Isn’t the higher torque version actually the 330e? A turbo’ed 4 plus an electric motor, compared to a straight 6 petrol 330I?
Though, I’m no expert so happy to be corrected!
330e is a 4 cyl petrol+electric motor.Though, I’m no expert so happy to be corrected!
The 330i had 258lbft (349nm) torque. As said above, the 330e has 310lbft (420nm)

The 420 nm is definitely a typo for the 2017 330i.
Yes, it should be Nm.Mat Watson always uses Nm on his carwow videos and it drives me mad!

It really should be Ibs/ft...I hate Nm because I've only ever been used to Ibs/ft. What is the obsession with Nm now after years of Ibs/ft?

He is probably stating metric HP (PS) as well, hence using Nm rather than the imperial measure.Mat Watson always uses Nm on his carwow videos and it drives me mad!
