Recommendations on a Small Van

I am looking to buy a small van, does anyone have any recommendations? I have a budget of £9k

Depends on your definition of small but you can get a lot of VW Caddy for that.

Something like a Berlingo, Citan, Caddy, Transit Connect. I’ve not owned a van before so I’m unsure on engines, specs etc.

Depends what you will be using it for and what you are willing to put up with really. For the Caddy the nicest ones will be highline but most people would probably be ok with Trendline. Hard to know what to recommend without knowing more of what you want really in terms of mileage, what you are going to be using it for. For example you can't get a euro pallet in one but if you don't need to do that it's not an issue. Also you need to decide whether you want a 1.6TDI or a 2.0TDI.

I`ve had mine from new, now on 110K miles.

48 mpg, no major issues.

Easy to drive and cheap to maintain.

FiL has had a doblo for years, very few problems with it, up to about 160k now. I suspect he'll keep it and run it into the ground. Interior is surprisingly tough considered it always full of stuff.

I’m mainly using it for electrical. So needs to store tools, ladders, odds and sods and cable. I will be doing around 30k a year so ideally something cheap to insure, tax and good on fuel.
