There's not a lot of cash floating around at the moment but it can still be enjoyable. £1500 bike, day off work, sunshine. You can't beat it!

I need new tyres though....what can I sell?

All my vehicles are on a budget! Nice bike, I can't help with what you should sell though. Kidneys apparently fetch a good price.

I've seen people on here talk about buying scrubs, which sounds interesting. If anybody would like to chip in, I'd be interested too.

I'd not recommend scrubs for the road, they don't work in the wet and cold and wear out pretty fast, it makes no sense when you can buy a pair of continental contimotions for £120 and they are more than adequate.

I've just bought this as a cheap road bike. 60K miles, two owners, full BMW Service history, BMW Panniers and inner bags, and a new front tyre. Not bad for £1200!

Collected it Saturday and rode down from Lincoln to Bicester to stay with a friend. A bunch of us rode over to the Moto GP at Silverstone on Sunday and after the race I rode home to Devon. Total of 400 miles over the 2 days.

I'm a big fan of ebay discount codes. I buy my tyres a couple of sets at a time from places like demon tweeks. They were doing Pilot Road 2s for about £140 per pair. I take the wheels off the bike and my local bike shop charges £10 £20/wheel for fitting

There's an ebay 15% discount code right now: PLETHORA

M&P are doing pilot powers for £116 ish after the discount code, which is a BARGAIN

Sadly M&P won't sell to me through ebay because i complained about one of their products once and they have blacklisted me, but should work for you.

That's some deal, it's £50+ for a rear tyre change around here.

£15 for a loose wheel, £30 on the bike at my local place... That's just a two man band type of place mind.

I used to have a bloke who'd do it for free on occasion, or about £20-£30 loose, but most have closed down now and I only have Honda really, and that means main dealer rates.

I don't really have the time but do have a compressor and the tools, and at £50+ I think I'll have to do it out of sheer principle, half the price of the bloody rear tyre on fitment is just crazy.

Also a good reason not to fit part-worns, or to invest in a compressor if you do!

You need to shop around. Even in an expensive bit of Surrey you can get a pair changed ride in / ride out for that without looking too hard.

Sorry guys. I got it wrong. Confused over car vs bike tyres. I think they charged me £20/wheel last time. It still makes it worth buying my own tyres

Well I'm open to suggestions if you know a motorcycle tyre fitter in Midlothian, but of the three garages I use, one burnt down, and two closed down. To the best of my knowledge, that leaves me with the main dealers in town, and main dealer rates and lack of availability. I rang a few mobile fitters but couldn't find anyone I trusted, or who would do it.

I got so pissed off with it I bought a compressor and the tools last year. Just two more tyres to change and it's paid for itself... I'm just struggling for the time at the moment.

Anyway, I'm derailing this poor chaps thread...

Sorry, I was trying to be funny. Hey, if you do want to go watch club racing any time(Thundersport for example), then I can sort you a free ticket.

Lovely bike that. Have liked the falco for a long time and as good as my 954 blade is, I reckon I should have really bought a falco given how much affordable character and performance you get for your ££££££

I bought it for a grand off my mate who had skiffed it up the road. He had it for about 9 years but I think crashing it took the shine off it (literally) for him. It crashed well, not a mark on the frame etc.

I spend a bit on secondhand panels as they came along and put a new battery. Every bit of red stuff has been changed other than the seat hump as that wasn't fitted when he dropped it. Other than that it's A1 as he looked after it really well. I think he hates seeing it now as it's better now than when he had it!

They are great bikes. Underrated 20 years ago and cheap now as nobody wants them.
