Which Skoda Superb

Evening all,
I am looking at replacing my Honda Jazz Hybrid with something a bit more suited to the longer miles I'm doing these days. I also have two young kids in rear facing car seats and my wife's Honda Civic i-DTEC is starting to feel a bit cramped. I was initially looking at the Passat BiTDi models but it seems the Superb offers a bit more space for less cash. I'm not after outright performance, just some comfort and quality (a little bit of pace would not go amiss).
I don't really want to spend more than £15,000 and would prefer between £10,000 to £12,000 ideally. Not fussed about auto or manual, but would prefer auto. More pertinent is the spec, ideally I want leather seats but it seems a lot outside of Elegance and Executive models have half leather/Alcantara.
Are there any known issues to look out for or any preferred models? The hatchback model will do just fine, I'm not after an estate.

I know, but their hideous styling is clearly an attempt to garner sales in China and looks quite similar to some of the stuff the Chinese make these days. I would have previously said that Infiniti's styling was Korean-esque, but the Koreans make rather better looking cars these days.
I've had a Skoda Superb since March. It's a 2014 greenline model which was previously s taxi that my dad was driving. It has already done 235k miles with no problems. Obviously it has been regularly serviced etc.
It's a nice car, full leather heated seats, absolutely enormous inside.
I don't love the 1.6l engine, it is very good on fuel (60 mpg) but also accelerate too slowly in my opinion ( but then I did have an m140i before so...).
It is overall a very good car and if you're going to be doing big miles the fuel economy could be perfect for you.

I'm guessing your TDi LK 4x4 will be quite nicely specced. I work near a Skoda dealer and the usually have their best models all lined up near the pavement. Always liked the look of the LK models there.
I'll be avoiding the 1.6 diesel and 1.4 petrol. It seems the 2.0 TDi and 2.0 TSi will be the defacto choice. I know the 1.6 will happily sustain a 90mph cruise but the getting there might be a slog in a bigger car.

I’m on my second saloon in 10 years - its a 2012 2.0TDI 140 and on 92k miles. I’ve towed with it (car trailer) and its been brilliant. We have two kids (11 & 13) and there is loads of space for them. It swallows a ton of luggage and comfortable - you can drive for several hours and not feel tired.
Had two faults repaired under warranty in addition to the VW cheat software upgrade.
1) First car (2009 model) the wiring on the twin door tailgate split. The current model doesnt have the split boot.
2) Current car developed a noise on tickover which proved to be a broken clutch part which wore a groove in the bell housing. All repaired under warranty incl clutch and gearbox casing.
FYI - seats are faux leather / alcantara.
My advice is SE spec as a minimum. 2.0L diesel and go for the estate.

The Skoda is a (I'd take the Mondeo as I feel that overall it's the better car but there's not much in it) good car but the level of fit & finish in the Infiniti is a clear step above so if you're going to be spending some time in it then these are things that matter, so I'd say test drive one, also if you go for the earlier M then you can have it in 3.0d form which also makes for a more relaxing drive:3.0d M Premium

The Infiniti brand was set up to mimic what Lexus did in the US by bringing Toyota up a step which it has done in the US but it just hasn't worked in Europe & with the next set of emissions targets for manufacturers coming into effect they've decided to leave Europe.
As I said take a look in one & drive it, also the Infiniti use all Mercedes hardware/drivetrain apart from the hybrid.
I bought a Superb L&K 280 estate a few months ago for £23k. 2.5 years old, less than 30k on the clock, four wheel drive, all the toys and more than enough performance. Does everything I need, and fuel economy is pretty good - mid 30's. More space than my old BMW 5 series (E61).

How did you work it out 
they're decent cars & at the moment good value, in a few months it'll be another range that's the way the used market is.The Skoda is good but imo the Mondeo is the better package which is why I bought a 210 Vignale rather than the Skoda.
