It doesnt accelerate cleanly

At low speed when I start to accelerate I can feel some resistant like it is having trouble to breathe and you can even hear that it isn’t accelerating cleanly.

I’ve changed the air filter to a K&N but that has made little difference.

So what should I look at/change next?? [pic]http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/c010.gif[/pic]
Or is it a trip to Topcats.

Nice smileys, have you tried the leads, mine had that flat spot and it was the no 6 lead hanging out,

Have you sorted it Dave?? could be a number off things, does it do it when hot or cold or both?

I recently had the same symptons and changing the lampda sensors (x2) which regulate the petrol/air mix cured it. Cost about #320.

Hot or cold just at low speed
Gonna check that all the leads are on, I think its due a service as well. How do i check if its a lamba sensor or air flow meter??

If your car has been running well and only recently started doing this, I'd suggest it's one of leads, spark amp or coil. These do seem to be routinely cooked by the heat from the engine. The air flow meter and lambda sensors do go, but less frequently than the previous combo. Given that there's five different to consider and other things I've probably missed, a specialist may make sense.

Inclined to agree with Steve.

Check all the plug connections... or even get a multimeter on the leads to see if it's one of them breaking down.

In terms of opportunity cost, it can actually be cheaper to bin the leads, and get a new disi cap and rotor arm and new coil...

Update.....

A couple of the leads were loose so I've push them back on and now they are nice and snug.

And now It DOES accelerate cleany.
