Can Any PHer Tennis Players Help?

It's time for a new tennis bat, and I thought I'd decided on the Babolat AeroPro Drive (£120). However, having picked up the Babolat Pure Drive Team (£80) and spoken to my local racquet shop - that one's quite tempting.
Has anyone used either and able to give some feedback.
I play a mainly baseline game, with tactics based solely on murdering the ball with lots of topspin...

If you've got a good sports shop nearby, they might have demonstration racquets that you can try if you're lucky. Normally you pay for the racquet, they give you the demo one for a few days before swapping it for a new one or change it for a different one / refund if you didn't like it. Strangely enough John Lewis also used to do this (and may still), but they didn't have much of a selection.
Having said that, you do tend to pay for that service in the cost of the racquet and shops that do it aren't exactly common. For my last racquet I took a wander round a few shops, checked some for weight, balance etc and then found a good deal on one I thought I liked from www.pwp.com Turned out ok
I've never used a Babolat racquet of any description, but some people where I play use them and like them. Problem is racquets are very much a question of personal taste, so other people's opinions might not be worth that much and finding one to demo isn't easy... Makes things a bit of a lottery really.

I guess I'm unlikely to be disappointed with either racquet as both would seem to suit my (overly aggressive*) style - I was just wondering whether the AeroPro was worth the extra £££.
I'll probably end up going for that one, as I'll keep it forever (my current racquet's 10+ years old and in regular use).
My local shop's offered me a better deal than I've found on the net, as they're going to throw in some goodies too- thanks for the link though.

Well that sounds like great fun to play against!
I use a Pure Drive. A very good racket. I have also tried the other one and the difference is small.
It is only worth the extra money if you are an advanced player. At least a LTA black rating. If you are just a decent club player then stick with the Pure Drive.
Depends on whether you want a players racquet or something a bit more forgiving (i.e size of the racquet head).
Personally I swear by the brutally unforgiving Wilson Pro Staff 6.0 Original (as used by Pete Sampras). This is very, very tough to master and not for a summer player as it taxes the hell out of your arm.
The one Roger Federer supposedly uses is a decent balance for a club player.
If you and banging everything off the baseline then I would probably agree and go for a babolat or a Prince because the frames are quite forgiving and give you decent control.
Don't look at the TV and think about buying a racquet just because a player you like is playing with it though. 8/10 times they are using a sprayed frame of the racquet they've been using since childhood. Timothy is not using a Slazenger, it's a Wilson Pro Staff Classic under that paint.
Go to.... www.tenniswarehouse.com for a huge selection of racquets and reviews by people who have bought it before looking at PWP. All the frames and everything else for that matter are much cheaper in the U.S, by far. Might even be worth shipping it over.

. The site's reviews were far more positive about the AeroPro, but then there is the possibility of bias (more $$$). However, the customer feedback on the Pure Drive is pretty much overwhelmingly positive. Maybe I could save myself 40 squid here

Steve is shopping for a new motorcycle. He finally finds one for a great price. The motorcycle is missing a seal, though, so whenever it rains Steve has to smear Vaseline over the spot where the seal should be.
Steve’s girlfriend is having him over for dinner to meet her parents one evening. He drives his new motorcycle to his girlfriend’s house.
She is waiting outside for him when he arrives. "No matter what happens at dinner tonight, don't say a word. Our family had a fight a while ago about doing the dinner dishes. We haven't done any since... and the first person to speak at dinner has to do them."
Steve sits down for dinner and soon notices that his girlfriend wasn’t exaggerating. It is just how she described it. Dishes are piled up to the ceiling in the kitchen and nobody is saying a word. Steve decides to have a little fun. He grabs his girlfriend, throws her onto the table and has sex with her in front of her parents. His girlfriend is a little flustered, her father is obviously livid, and her mother is horrified. Yet, when Steve and his girlfriend resume their placs at the dinner table, nobody says a word.
A few minutes later, Steve grabs his girlfriend’s mom, throws her onto the table and does a repeat performance. Now his girlfriend is furious, her father is boiling, and her mother is a little more pleased. But still, there is complete silence at the table.
Suddenly, there is a loud clap of thunder and it starts to rain. Steve remembers his motorcycle outside and so he jumps up and grabs his jar of Vaseline.
With a look of terror in his eyes, the girlfriend’s father backs away from the table and exclaims, "Okay, enough already, I'll do the damn dishes!"
