Hi.

I currently own a 2014 Ford Fiesta ST and am thinking about replacing it with a 2012 Megane RS 265 Trophy. I was also considering a Focus ST. Which would you suggest and why? Also what are common problems to watch out for?

Many thanks

Alex.

Both good cars but the fiesta will be more nimble than either as well as being more tuneable.

Focus a better daily, Megane a better toy.

Thanks for your feedback. The one i'm looking at is the 2l turbo mk3 model and seems very tunable. A stage one map takes them up to 300bhp. Would the LSD not make it handle better than the fiesta? I'm asking as someone who's never driven a renaultsport car before.

The trophy is just a few stickers and a number plaque, so I wouldnt worry about making sure you get one. The Megane can easily be mapped to over 300bhp.

The Fiesta is a good car, but very common.

The Megane would pick for me the pick would be a Trophy or a Lux with the Cup Chassis & the Recaros but I will concede the Focus will be the better day to day car but not by a huge margin, the Megane will get under your skin & your right the Cup Chassis with the diff make a big difference to the way the car drives.

Definitely want the cup chassis and lsd and maybe the recaros. And you guys are right about the trophy. The extra cost doesn't seem justified. I'm in 2 minds as to whether to keep my st and tune it but you can't just map them, you have to upgrade the intercooler, exhaust etc. So at least the magane would be more cost effective to tune.
