Just got back from a great 2 weeks blast around France.

The odometer is now reading just under 107k!

Can anyone beat that? I remember reading about a Griff on 120k - but what's the record for an S?

Mine reads about the same. Just to complicate things though, it had the speedo replaced somewhere around 8k miles, (115k ish total then) but on the other hand there isn't much of it that is still original. Most major components have been replaced at least once.

Can't break any records but a respectable 102K now on my 1990 S3 - Interesting to look in the back of Sprint to see how many Chimaera's and Griffiths have only accumulated 2-3K miles per year.

Get out and enjoy them I say....!!

BTW: Regards insurance - I'm an old git (37) so comprehensive insurance each year costs just over 250 notes (broker is Carole Nash - agreed value - includes breakdown cover!).....admittedly this is for limited mileage of 4K per year. Having said that, when I renewed, to extend to 10K per year would have been around £300 which incidentally is cheaper than my 'daily' car - Honda Civic Estate boredom waggon......!!

How do you get enough bags in an S for clothes for 2 weeks - don't you guys ever change your underpants?!

Ok, introducing a slightly different slant on this, what's the furthest from Blackpool anyone has been in their S?

I'll start the bidding at Valencia.

Its supprising how much you can get in an S even with the roof down. The rear shelf will take a couple of large soft bags and you could always leave the spare at home and carry a can of tyreweld.
