Best all round flatbed truck ?

I'm looking at buying a used single cab pickup, a 1000 kg load is enough, but I want the most reliable , cheapest to run , no frills, Diesel . I'm moving to an off grid remote property, I don't plan on huge miles on the clock but I will need to ferry logs, building materiels and such, and be mobile in the winter.

I'd consider ex military or commercial vehicles.

What are my options ?

Look for an Iveco Daily.

No frills single cab, won't go far wrong with an Isuzu rodeo.

Although any old school truck should be relatively hardy with little too go wrong.

We have a vauxhall brava (rebadged rodeo), never had any issues that weren't age related (suspension refresh) or service items.
