When I had a twin plenum Vitesse and needed to change the gearbox because the input shaft disintegrated I was told all gearboxes (car
) were the same and ratio differences were in the diff.......
I have checked the Rover SD1 workshop manual and no references are given for differing manual gearboxes across the range...... one set of specs for manual gearbox is all that it shows.
Hope this helps.

AFAIK there are lots of different versions and ratios with the LT77, don't forget it started out as a Jaguar box too. It was fitted not only to SD1's, sherpas, TVR's, MG's, Morgan it was also in lots of varients of Landies, Disco's and early Rangies too. There are lots out there, only question I have is the version in the V8S the LT77S (strengthened) 28A
.
Either way I would imagine you would be looking at +£300 for a rebuild of your existing box.
