High performance ear plugs

Most ear plugs cut dB but leave mid spectrum quite audible, is there a grade that blocks out as much as possible?

In my experience neither are as good as Quies wax earplugs - in fact no foam ones are.

Agreed, these are the best! Some people people don't know how to fit ear plugs properly hence they don't get the full sound blocking effect. Roll the plug between thumb and forefinger until it's quite thin then insert fully into the ear and allow it to expand. The better ones will expand quite slowly but will work a treat.

Another vote for the Laser Lite. After a long ride on the motorbike when I stop and take them out the countryside sounds really loud As above, they work really well if you use them properly.

Silicone ones, for me, are great. They block everything out, so you just hear the blood pumping in your head. The wife and I put them on, and I could shout at her and she wouldn't hear me.
