I always remember in the 70,s and 80’s rhubarb was grown in almost every garden and with crumble, was the pudding of choice.

I absolutely fking hated it, but does anyone grow it or still cook it?

Goes well with ginger for a pud or flavoured gin smile

Yes and yes. Three crowns currently, under rhubarb forcers initially.

yes We have 4 or 5 crowns. Love rhubarb crumble, and rhubarb vodka with ginger beer is lush. Or a rhubarb vodka martini with a sliver of stem ginger. lick

Rhubarb is one of my favourite fruits vegetables.

Superb flavour for desserts and baking. Pretty sure I once used it in a chicken dish too.

Mrs G picked a load from our garden this morning alone with apples and raspberries. They are all now part of two tasty crumbles that are in the freezer waiting for next weekend

yes

My favourite fruit. We grow them in the garden and jamify several kilos each year.

They're also superb in fools, and my mum used to make this awesome open fruit flan with them as well.

Yum.

Rhubarb cider is lovely. I make it, but must confess I do cheat a little by adding a bit of rhubarb flavour in when bottling the real cider.

I don't tell anybody though hehe

I ate it raw (peeled, obviously), dipped in sugar.

I tend to use gooseberries from a jar for flans. The factories seem to have a way of cooking them yet retaining their shape.

Tons of the stuff growing. Fed up with rhubarb crumble this year. Used to mix it up with the black currants but the latter are all now tied up with sugar. Got around 15 jars of jam.

Oh and a few kilos of plums in syrup. Might have another go at rhubarb jam.

I don't think it makes good jam on its own. Pretty good when mixed with strawberries, but it's too late in the season for that. The commercial strawbs in shops now aren't any good for jam.
