Microfibre vs chamois
Discussion
This topic may have been discussed before but at the weekend, I used a Simonez microfibre for the first time to dry my car instead of a chamois and the difference was amazing.
With a chamois, the car would become dry but it needs wetting before the chamois stops behaving like cardboard. Also the shine was always lacking, meaning I needed to re-wax or re-polish it every time.
With the microfibre, the water was absorbed much more quickly and the car's shine was retained, meaning I didn't need to bother re-waxing it.
This was the first wash since the wax was applied so can I expect similar results with repeat washes? If so, microfibres are the way forward. Can't believe I didn't try them earlier!

If you're impressed with that, try a Klin Korea Duo. Just lay it on the bodywork and lift it off basically. Incredible and makes the job so much easier.
Thanks, never heard of that. I'll stick with the Simonez microfibre for a few months, see how long I don't have to repolish then give this a go.Pizzaeatingking said:

I was going to get one of these towels but bought an Auto Finesse Aqua Deluxe Drying Towel from Eurocarprts for a tenner instead, seems like it's a similar towel? I can completely dry my 3 series without having to wring it out!https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories...

Spooky, I have this one too! It's ok and a vast improvement on my old cheapo towel but I prefer the Klin, I can just pat the car with it and it sucks up all the water. https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories...

What's a Klin like with maintaining a polished shine after a wash? Not having to re-polish/wax my car after every clean is the main appeal of a microfibre. Also the large towel looks a little big to easily move around a car!!!
I couldn't get a Klin either so bought an alternative from Amazon. Checked the reviews etc. The big towels are excellent. I can dry my Kodiaq in minutes without smears and that awful scratchy, dragging feeling of a chamois. Does the Windows too, without any water marks, I am guessing it also helps if you wash the car with decent shampoo too.
