Seems to have stalled.... barely moving at all, over Grand Bahama.

The second strongest storm ever recorded.

Gusts of 180mph and sustained winds over 150mph.

And possible 25ft storm surge.

Going to be a mess.

And then.... where next.... ? Predictions are it moves generally north and doesn’t make land fall on the USA.

Resident of coastal South Carolina here.
This one is proving a slow burner for sure. Latest predictions indicate we'll skirt this one by the skin of our teeth. I am glad its gone down to a Cat2 for now.
Media is all over this here. On Sunday evening the South Carolina Governor declared a mandatory evacuation with effect from noon Monday (Labor Day holiday), schools and local State Gov offices closed ufn, and they reversed the inbound side of the main interstate into Charleston to aid evacuation. My office is closed and we are working remotely or you have to take the time off from your vacation/holiday time. And Dorian has barely moved off the Bahamas, so all a bit premature at the moment. Problem is no one in any form of office wants to be blamed so we are all sent into 'panic' mode. My area isn't going to see any effect until some time late evening on Wednesday and all day Thursday. I don't know anyone who has evacuated yet. The local airport is closing Wednesday afternoon.

We are making our way up back to Miami, and then nassau on Thursday... port is ‘open’ but speaking to a friend who lives there, lot of the island is still flooded and they missed the most of it??

Look on the weather website ‘windy’ turn on gusts and you’ll see it’s full potential... there’s also one more developing off cape verde right now... looks like the Saharan dust from easier in the season has died down and it’s full swing tropical waves

It’s going to be a complete mess. The storm was hanging out over the top for a couple of days.

Fortunately I don’t think FL is going to take a hit, and I pray the same is true for the rest of the US.

Honestly have not seen that on the news. (Admittedly I try not to see news of him if at all possible)

Its Wednesday evening here in Charleston, SC and so far relatively calm. A few wind gusts, but the fun starts over night. Should wake up to a lot of rain and strong winds. It looks like we'll narrowly avoid a direct hit with the 'eye' about 60 miles offshore. By early afternoon Thursday it should have about passed the worst. Its quiet out, but still some folks are around, I don't think many have evacuated. They are predicting heavy flooding with the high tides here on the coast. In true PH fashion, my cars all tucked up in the garage.....
