What's my blood group?

I need to find out my blood group to get an MSA competition licence..
One can find out by giving to Blood Donor but it's only for under 70 yrs old.
My GP says he can't do it.
I've been on-line to Blue Horizon & they charge £185.
Can anybody suggest a cheaper option?

I've found a testing kit on ebay for £7:00. So hopefully problem solved.

Give blood and when they ask what type you are say you dont know, they will then test it and tell you.

Thanks, sadly it seems one can't be a blood donor if over 70.

Firstly, I'm rather inspired by your getting your competition licence at 70+!

Secondly, there are some cheaper "at-home" kits, such as this one

We're doing the Monte Historique next year, starting from Glasgow. We're in a 1954 Daimler Conquest. The mother of one of the team did the 1955 Monte in a similar Daimler and came 17th.

You can be a blood donor if over 70 - provided you have given blood in the last two years.

Ok I know a GP and he said you can get it privately via the local surgery so just ask them.

Careful - it might be £7 for the 'kit', but it might be £xxx and need to be sent away for the 'test'. Similar to this:

Do the MSA accept a DIY Kit? My license is overseas so all I get from MSA is a no objection letter once a year, but the local license authority insist on a blood group from a recognized clinic, When I read how strict the MSA is I'm amazed they accept DIY.,
Congratulations on a license at over 70, i'm 67 and manage to renew mine, you should also be congratulated on getting to 70+ and never needing to know your blood group,

Lovely! I have many fond memories of my Dad's Daimler Majestic Major. When him and my step mother went to see a show in London, She sat in the back and he drove wearing a peaked cap. Never got stopped for one over the limit. He wasn't really a drinker but it took the risk out of having a pre show AND intermission drink.
