Has anyone had any issues with their finance agreement when replacing their tyres on a BMW? Mine are due for replacement on a M140i.

If I change the tyres to a set that aren't approved by BMW (labelled with a star) will it affect my agreement? I've been priced up for a set of approved tyres (Michelin) at a cost of £700 but I can get the exact same set of tyres that I currently have on now without the approved star for £200 cheaper. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I doubt they can impose any action on your finance agreement as a result of changing them.

I bought an m140i from a main dealer in February and 2 of the tyres weren't star rated.

The star rating doesn't mean much except that the tyre manufacturer gave BMW a sizeable wedgie so that BMW would put their "approved" mark on it. As long as you stick to the same size, speed and load rating then you'll be fine.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

My other half’s MINI was handed back early with none star rated tyres and no one cared. I doubt very much that the BMW FS would care.

As others have said I wouldn't worry too much about the star rating.

However, on the Formula 1 Autocentres website, I priced up a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports in 225 40 18 & 245 35 18, both BMW star marked. The fronts come in at £112.30 each and rears are £131.40 each. So £487 for a set fitted....
