Looking through the classifieds of an evening as one does, i have seen a couple of cars that have taken my eye, as am thinking of changing. one a TVR and the other a Porsche.
Have had TVR’s for well over twenty years, so when i saw a nice Mk3 Tuscan, sent an email off to the well known and respected dealer, and nothing, waited a while sent another email stating that i was interested in the car. I did get a reply stating that he would get back to me. A week later, and ........nothing!!
Same with the Porsche, advert came on over the weekend, sent email straight in, and yes you guessed, nothing back.
These are £50K + priced cars. Considering that nothing seems to be moving on the classifieds, i am very surprised in the lack of interest shown by some main stream garages.
Anyone else had same experience?

If they are selling enough to adopt this attitude then fair enough, but they won’t be getting my business, and have cash waiting!
It just amazes me, that time and time again, that you have to chase chase chase!

That clearly isn't true or accurate. Just look at how many cars are sold via auction and particularly via eBay.It’s 2019! Email is a valid and serious means of communication. You get facts and figures documented so there can be no debate later on.
Similar situation and finally found someone willing to communicate solely via email so they got my business! The two previous cars I asked about but no response are still for sale.
Plus, who answers their phone these days? If you’re not my mum, wife or kids then you go straight to voicemail!

If dealers work with the notion that people who contact them by email are timewasters must must be missing out on plenty of custom.
I don't get why there is such a big deal about emailing anyway?
Often when I call in about a car the dealer doesn't have the facts about the car to hand. A few times we've ended up with our wires crossed and wrong facts are given over the phone.
An email gives time to think and make sure there is a clear understanding.
Personally I think a lot of dealers intentionally don't want to say things in writing as you'll have some comeback on misleading information.

A lot of dealers get a drunken email..."will you take 5 quid mate". plus the junk filters sometimes mean you do not get seen.
I love an email...send it Saturday and dealer gets it Monday when they are ready but you have to remember all the idiots that send emails that are almost impossible to decipher, junk email, spam etc.
"Hi m8, my bruh thinks your car is sic but way loads of dollar, wad u drop for cash?" Type stuff.

I don’t know whether you have brought the Tuscan or have it on sale or return.
Unfortunately, computers are not my strong point, so carn’t figure how to put a link up. But it is the 4.0L Factory Red Rose one in Halcyon Midas Pearl in the Tamora Listing.
Perhaps you could take a look, and let me have your thoughts.

So, as another poster implied, this is clearly not a drunken email sent on a whim, but a very serious initial enquiry on a car that ticked a lot of my boxes.
I am a great believer in Fate, and to me, that is fate telling me the car is not for me!!

In my view, and with all due respect, your e-mail says nothing about being a serious buyer. In your own words; "I am possibly interested in this car".
The rest of your e-mail is about trying to get the dealer to buy your Tamora, but you can't even give him a link to look at your advert.
No wonder the dealer can't be bothered.
