This idiot managed to completely flatten the battery on my 987S at the weekend. I have tried connecting a spare battery to the connector in the fuse box to no avail. (multiple batteries tried) I have also tried to charge the battery with my CTEK through the same route but the charge shows the error that states it is not connected to a battery. This evening the charging adapter arrives that may enable me to charge through the cigarette lighter. If this does not work any other suggestions?
I believe that the release cable runs through the NS wheel arch but i need to remove the liner. However the locking wheel adapter is stored under the bonnet. All help appreciated.

we have all done it !!
remember though once you have connected a 12v supply from the + connector in the fusebox and the - to the car chasis (usualy the door hinge) you need to USE THE BUTTON ON THE KEY to open the front boot, not the button by the drivers seat
Hope this helps - it did for me the first time

The battery is so flat that I think its below any working voltage. It won't even release the key from the ignition (it was initally) and there are no lights at all on the dash.

Put your Chex onto 12v supply to get some juice into it and after a hit move onto full recon....will desulphanate and deep cycle the battery
