In a school, kids 13+. Staff to wear rainbow lanyards on their ID badges.

What say PH?

Is it just a few Transgender toilets or are all toilets gender neutral ?

I think gender neutral across the board would be more acceptable ( and more inclusive )

One of my customers does commercial bathroom/ toilet fit out.

A lot of schools seem to be going to mixed gender toilets, apparently it reduces bullying/ fighting/ smoking/ shagging etc.

I say that your title is clickbait, it's changed from transgender toilets to rainbow lanyards?

These are also good because usually the cubicles are more like separate rooms with proper walls, so you can have a st in peace.

Make up your mind.

Is it rainbow lanyards? Or Transgender toilets?

Or are you confused and these are gender neutral toilets?

I don't see a problem with any of the above.

Ah, I forgot we were talking about schools. I didn’t even piss at school if I could help it. You never know who’s lying in wait with a fist full of wet toilet paper to chuck at you.

My school was a huge, sprawling, private school with many ancient 4 or 5 story buildings and with rooms everywhere that were hard to find, down old corridors, in basements, in attics, and so on.

Because students boarded in some of the buildings, there were bathrooms everywhere, toilets everywhere, small living room type areas everywhere. You get the idea.

In one of the main 'Houses' where I spent a number of years, there was a toilet on the very top floor down a small corridor. It was a single toilet in a small room.

Carpeted, spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, big heavy old wooden door with a big lock brass lock on the back of it, a magazine rack full of old copies of Max Power and Nuts, and the bog was right next to the window which was an old leaded window and not frosted glass.

I think probably only a few of us knew it was there.

You could sit in carpeted comfort up there on the 5th floor, totally undisturbed, in peace and quiet, reading Max Power, while looking out of the window onto the cricket pitches and sports fields watching whatever game was taking place.

Still to this day it was the finest lavatory I have ever used on a regular basis.

And the state of them.

If anything, it will be a great opportunity for the lads to piss over more seats. Or are we having a gender neutral piss tray too?

The school I work at used to have male and female toilets, they’re all gender neutral now (both male and female toilets were always cubicles, there were never urinals or a trough). Funny thing is the boys still exclusively use what used to be the boys’ toilets and the girls still use what used to be the girls’.

Indeed, the toilet roll could literally be used as tracing paper. It was torture.

Good point well made .. er what about sitting and standing rooms ?

regardless of what you identify - pick a room

and for hygiene reasons all sitting positions should have the seat loaded into the up position ... when occupied the users weight will hold it down.

Habit? There’s no reason to prefer one over the other, they are identical in every way.

I don't see any benefits of gender neutral loos, perplexing.

As has been pointed out in this thread already, one of the advantages of Unisex toilets is that they are constructed to be totally private and secure.

They are not what you picture in your mind of a flimsy door with the lock hanging off and enough room to crawl or look under, climb over, or pass things from one cubicle to another, or push the door hard enough and it’ll open.

Actual UK school Unisex toilets:
