New Printer won't print. What am I doing wrong.

Just bought a brand Epson Printer XP-2100.

Had a similar one before now, have gone through the set up procedure and it just won't print from Laptop.

Any ideas?

Need more information, are the drivers right? is it wireless or wired, if it's wireless is it connected to the network and are you both on the same network? eg, both connected to the same wifi

Yes, the drivers are right. Done everything, only to get a message that there are a problem with the ink cartridges.

I know you almost certainly have done so, but is it worth rechecking that all of the packing tapes have been removed from the inside?

Often moving parts are taped down to stop them moving about in transit, and sometimes they aren't immediately obvious.

Plus the ink cartridges themselves will come with removable sticky tapes over the heads. Have you removed this?

take cartidge out. Rub contacts on printer head and cartridges with a damp hanky. Reinsert cartridges. Works for me everytime

Yes, had a very similar Epson before.

I will give that a try before hitting it with a hammer.

The disc that came with it didn't seem to work and had to download the drivers from online. First time I have used the disc drive on my Laptop. Could that be anything to do with it?
