440 won't connect with iPhone

Morning all. For a few weeks now my 440 refuses to even acknowledge the existence of my iPhone in the car. I've fiddled, messed around, switched Bluetooth on and off, everything...and failed! So now I search for wisdom on PH. Anyone had the same problem? Any ideas how I fix it? It is getting mildly irritating not being able to access my music and phone. Thanks.

What iPhone is it and what iDrive version do you have? It may be worth running a software update on iDrive, if applicable, from www.bmw.com/update for your car. This helped connectivity with my ID4 in my M135i and my old iPhone X

Have you recently got something else which is Bluetooth and which your phone is connected to before you get into the car?

You can only connect one Bluetooth item at a time - you'll have to disconnect from the other item before you can reconnect it in the car.
