Air Con condenser
Discussion
Ordered and collected the above from ECP for my Astra van and my mechanic had the van in today to replace, he phoned me to tell me the unit is the wrong one, the one I ordered was the correct one listed on ECP website for my reg # and vehicle details, any ideas for where i can find the correct one and order it from?
There are always variants, and can be a problem when supplying a part yourself. With a job like this it's always best to get the garage to supply and fit then you would get a fully warranted job. Your best bet now is to take BOTH condensers to the nearest ECP outlet. You will get a refund on the incorrect one and have the old one for them to match up with the correct one.

Did ECP give you what you ordered? Part numbers on box/part match order details?
Yes, mechanic phoned them and gave my reg # for them to send out another one, when it arrived the driver took it back as that was the same as the first one I supplied.Old Merc said:

My mechanic would have done the same as me and ordered it via ECP using my reg #, I will be returning the part for a refund once I have phoned their helpline for a refund number.Mechanic is away until Sept 30 now so I have a few weeks to figure it out, didn't want to drive round for a few weeks with no condenser fitted to prevent moisture entering the system so it was refitted.

Other them the bracket at the bottom of the picture there doesn't seem to be much different is the bracket removable or is it welded on?
The brackets are (side) welded (top) riveted, when the new one was offered up there was a gap of approx 2" due to the curve in the new unit (bottom of photo where the red cap is)If the unit didn't have the curve it would fit.
