Qustion re the car "cigarete lighter" charger

Hi all

If you put a phone charger or sat nav charger into said cigarette lighter charger and they turn on their colour does that mean that that the car charger is 100% working perfectly no flickering just fully on. The reason I ask my phone will not charge through that but will charge via the usb port under the arm rest even though the connector in the cigarette charger is showing its green colour

I think it depends what model BMW you have.

On my E46 and E86 the cigarette lighter is permanently live, but on my E90 it isn't, only when the key is in the slot.

What do you mean the light is on?

Light on the charger or around the ciggy lighter socket itself?
