My Dad will be staying in the Holiday Inn - be nice to stay in the same hotel as him (Newcastle City, Newbridge Street) im being very lazy I know (just too busy to look rigth now) ... im not asking fellow PHers to scour the net for me :p but off the top of your heads (I wouldnt know, ive never looked before) are there any sites which come to mind who will surely offer a discounted cheaper rate then the holiday inn themselves?

Not very clued up on pricing structures, just wondering if affilliate sites offer competitive rates for the same hotel, or sell at the same price but earn a commission. How does it usually work?

laterooms.com or lastminute.com are worth a look. Or just haggle on the dog!

I use smoothhound.co.uk for booking hotels.

But Holiday Inn have a lowest price guarantee anyway.

"If you find a rate on a competing web site that is lower than the lowest rate shown on the 'Best Available' search of InterContinental Hotels Group web site, InterContinental Hotels Group will honor that rate for the nights for which the lower rate was found, plus give you an additional 10% discount off the lower rate found upon its verification by InterContinental Hotels Group."

Give the reception clerk a bone, she'll drop her rates favourably, stripping off unnecessary expenses

Im glad I asked, I was dubious as to whether or not Id be able to get a deal. How does one compare one hotel to another anyway? Only hotels with the same amount of stars, or...?
