I've got a few problems I need some advice with:

1. I've got a folder which I extracted from a zip file which I cannot delete, even if I change the proerties of the folder so that it is no longer read-only.

2. I've got a shady file called ccapp.exe which I've no idea where it came from (I noticed it in task manager in cpu useage) which is using nearly 30,000K of power. I can't delete it.

Any advice on how I can remove these? Also any good anti-virus software, as I'm not comfident that Norton is doping what it should be.

Thanks in advance guys!

I'm assuming the ccapp.exe is in the folder, and you cant delete it because windoze tells you it's 'in use' if so start your machine in safe mode with console, and delete both from the console.

ccapp.exe is part of Norton antivirus so I suspect you don't want to delete that.....

Download a copy of WhoLockMe. Install and run, then use it to find out what process is locking the folder you are trying to delete. Then stop that process (as long as it's not system critical) and then delete the folder.

Assuming your using windows then get yourself a copy of Microsoft Anti-Spyware Beta. You can download it free from the MS website. Pretty good

XoftSpy is also another good piece of software...

also try getting a 'mal-ware' spotter/remover.

something like spybot search+destroy
www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

i also use AVG free edition for antivirus
www.grisoft.com/doc/1

i'm sure there are others.

also if you search for 'ccapp.exe' on google youll find tips on curbing its appetite for memory
