MAC Address maybe a daft question

As I say may be obvious and daft but:

On Virgin media running a Superhub 3 in modem mode. You can then add in your own router - simples. Using a Netgear ADSL or fibre router Its almost impossible to get an internet connection. However the router has the facility to use a Previous MAC address that worked.
So that's what I have done pinching the MAC address from my Netgear Nighthawk

But if I give the original router to someone and they connect it to Virgin Cable via a Superhub in Modem Mode will they be able to get a network connection ?
OR will Virgin reject the routers MAC address as already in use ?

From memory you need to wait some time with Virgin to be able to use a different MAC when in modem mode. An hour or two. Not ages!
